Len Al Haas, CFRE

Len Al is founder and president of Haas Consulting. For more than 20 years, he has provided fundraising, planning and tech­nology con­sult­ing services for non­profits ranging from social service and health­care organizations to educational institutions and profes­sional associa­tions.

An active community volunteer for two decades, Len Al co-found­ed and served as chairman of the board of directors of TECH CORPS Georgia. He also served on the board of directors of The Study Hall at Emmaus House and the board of St. Martin’s Episcopal School. He is a past president of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and he serves annually on the steering committee for the organization’s National Philanthropy Day. He currently serves on the advisory board of the Foundation Center – Atlanta. He is a frequent conference presenter whose topics include fund­rais­ing and technology.

Len Al began his career working in development and alumni affairs at Georgia State University, and later served as a consultant with a large Atlanta-based firm and as development director for Hillside Hospital.

Len Al has managed successful annual and capital campaigns with goals up to $10 million. He is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) with a B.A. in Economics from the University of Vermont and an M.B.A. from Georgia State University. He also taught math and economics as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa.

Jessie S. Bond

Jessie is a nonprofit consultant and wri­ter specializing in organiza­tion­al devel­op­ment and fund develop­ment, with pro­fes­sional ex­per­i­ence span­ning more than 25 years. She conducts organiza­tion­al assess­ments, consults on grant-wri­ting strategy and tech­niques, and pro­vides grant-writing services and program eval­ua­tion consulting.

In addition to her work with Haas Consulting, Jessie also works regularly with foundations in the Atlanta area, providing assess­ment, writing and research services. For example, she has assessed grantmaking programs, conducted research on potential grantmaking issues, surveyed foundation grantees, evalu­ated grant proposals, written reports on grantmaking programs, and developed a grant­ma­king manual. Her past clients include the Healthcare Georgia Foundation, Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, Rockdale Foundation and Southeastern Council of Foundations.

Jessie earned a B.A. in Political Science from Southern Methodist University and an M.A. in American Government from Georgetown University.

Nancie F. Smith

Nancie has over 20 years experience in academic and other non­profit environ­ments, as well as a decade of corporate experience. Her experience in nonprofit manage­ment includes program devel­op­ment and management, volunteer train­ing and management, strategic plan­ning, an­nu­al budgeting, fund­rais­ing, mar­ket­ing and com­munications, com­mu­nity rela­tions, and board relations.

Before becoming a Haas consultant, she worked in develop­ment and communications for The Galloway School, a private inde­pen­dent school in Atlanta. Nancie’s past experi­ence includes working in agency relations for the United Way of the Central Savannah River Area, after having served on their board of di­rec­tors and working as an account executive in marketing for Southern Bell (now AT&T).

Nancie earned a B.A. in English from Augusta State University and an M.Ed. from Geor­gia State University.
