Len Al is founder and president of Haas Consulting. For more than 20 years, he has provided fundraising, planning and technology consulting services for nonprofits ranging from social service and healthcare organizations to educational institutions and professional associations.
An active community volunteer for two decades, Len Al co-founded and served as chairman of the board of directors of TECH CORPS Georgia. He also served on the board of directors of The Study Hall at Emmaus House and the board of St. Martin’s Episcopal School. He is a past president of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and he serves annually on the steering committee for the organization’s National Philanthropy Day. He currently serves on the advisory board of the Foundation Center – Atlanta. He is a frequent conference presenter whose topics include fundraising and technology.
Len Al began his career working in development and alumni affairs at Georgia State University, and later served as a consultant with a large Atlanta-based firm and as development director for Hillside Hospital.
Len Al has managed successful annual and capital campaigns with goals up to $10 million. He is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) with a B.A. in Economics from the University of Vermont and an M.B.A. from Georgia State University. He also taught math and economics as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa.
Jessie is a nonprofit consultant and writer specializing in organizational development and fund development, with professional experience spanning more than 25 years. She conducts organizational assessments, consults on grant-writing strategy and techniques, and provides grant-writing services and program evaluation consulting.
In addition to her work with Haas Consulting, Jessie also works regularly with foundations in the Atlanta area, providing assessment, writing and research services. For example, she has assessed grantmaking programs, conducted research on potential grantmaking issues, surveyed foundation grantees, evaluated grant proposals, written reports on grantmaking programs, and developed a grantmaking manual. Her past clients include the Healthcare Georgia Foundation, Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, Rockdale Foundation and Southeastern Council of Foundations.
Jessie earned a B.A. in Political Science from Southern Methodist University and an M.A. in American Government from Georgetown University.
Nancie has over 20 years experience in academic and other nonprofit environments, as well as a decade of corporate experience. Her experience in nonprofit management includes program development and management, volunteer training and management, strategic planning, annual budgeting, fundraising, marketing and communications, community relations, and board relations.
Before becoming a Haas consultant, she worked in development and communications for The Galloway School, a private independent school in Atlanta. Nancie’s past experience includes working in agency relations for the United Way of the Central Savannah River Area, after having served on their board of directors and working as an account executive in marketing for Southern Bell (now AT&T).
Nancie earned a B.A. in English from Augusta State University and an M.Ed. from Georgia State University.
